Philippines today is linked by blood, adoption or slavery to the Parmelee families that founded Guilford, Conn., in 1639.
And the rest can be traced to members of a Parmly family from Middleton-in-Teesdale in northern England who arrived in
Pennsylvania before the Civil War.
